Noel Fowler was awarded Life Membership of Beaumont Running Club following his epic 101 mile run during the Club's 24 hours Anniversary Relay event at Thornton Reservoir on 20th and 21st June 2008. He tackled the 100 mile challenge as a way of saying farewell, on moving from Leicester to Devon. Noel's award also recognises him has the organiser of the Anniversary Relay over several years. This year's event already looks set to raise a record amount for our chosen charity LOROS.

Noel wrote a letter of thanks for his award to Chairman Jon Bott, who asked us to publish Noel's words:

"Dear Jon,

I wanted to write to you as chair of Beaumont Running Club to thank you for the honour of being made a life member. Yesterday was an emotional time for all sorts of reasons but to receive that award was a great shock.

I can genuinely say that in the 15 years I have been a member I feel as though I have taken out more than given. The friendships, training advice, motivation and events, both social and competitive, will remain with me as I move to the South West.

I have put my address on this letter so that the club can stay in touch*. I hope to join you on Mondays and Thursdays a few times before September and will then stay in touch via the website.
